  As being a cusine expert from the great state of New York, the food was below average. We ordered the flatbread. The flatbread was an insult to the state of NY and to all living Italians. We sat down as 6:45 pm and ended up leaving at 8:00 with our food in boxes after waiting so long. The place was unique but that doesn't compensate for the food and wait time. However, both waitresses were exceptionally nice and a pleasure to be around.

  The menu outside noted vegetarian options which would have been nice except the menu handed to us at the table didn't reflect the menu posted outside. My boyfriend asked the waitress if the vegetarian options were still available off menu. As before we asked to be seated, he made a note of asking the hostess if the menu options outside were available and on the menu. She said yes, the menu outside and the menu inside were one and the same, everything was available. After finding out I wouldn't be able to eat anything but a salad or a side order of fries since the menus differed, I kept my disappointment hidden as we were out for a romantic evening and my boyfriend wanted to try this place. My boyfriend ordered the French dip. It was very small with little meat in it. The slaw served with it came in a tiny dipping sauce size cup. After asking the waitress about the vegetarian options and being told those options weren't available, I ordered a large garden salad. It came out looking like a side salad someone would order with their dinner not as a main dish. Shredded carrot, cucumbers, white onion, small croutons, and iceberg lettuce on a small dinner plate. Definitely not worth the nearly $10 price. We both left disappointed. We drove home stopping at another restaurant on the way to get something filling. The Farnsworth home is historically interesting, dining experience not memorable and very disappointing. In future, we will not be returning.
